Observatoire national de la santé

The National Health Observatory (Observatoire national de la santé, or ObSanté) is a public administration placed under authority of the Minister for Health and Social Security. Nonetheless, the ObSanté remains scientifically and professionally independent regarding its tools, findings, and proposals.

Raison d’être of the ObSanté is to guide decisions and health policies and assess their impact through data (health status, health determinants, non-monetary resources, and healthcare and service utilisation). In other words, its task is to generate information using available data and to put this information into perspective (historical comparison, international benchmarking) to identify areas for improvement.
